I just returned from a great trip to Kailua-Kona where I was co-chair of the Decision Analysis track for the international conference of the Institute for Operations Research and Management Science (INFORMS). My co-chair was Professor Vicki Bier of the Industrial and Systems Engineering Department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
It was a great opportunity to work with Vicki and INFORMS on the conference, to meet a lot of very accomplished people from around the world, and to attend many interesting talks. Below are Vicki and I just before I gave my talk on legal applications of decision analysis.
On top of all this, the conference was at a spectacular setting: the Hilton Waikoloa Village. Below are just a few pics to give you a sense of what makes this such a spectacular vacation destination--not to mention a great place for a conference!
Thanks very much to Vicki and all the INFORMS people for the hard work that made this such a professionally and personally rewarding experience.
